Mechanical Engineer/Inspector, PE

SRA is looking for a motivated ”Mechanical Engineer/Inspector, PE” to join one of our prestigious clients (Special Inspection & Construction Materials Testing company) for DOB, NYCT/LIRR/DDC/DEP/DOT/NYCHA/SCA/NYC Parks projects, Location: Long Island City, NY 11106. Candidates should have a professional, pleasant demeanor with ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

Perform various inspections – structural steel bolting & welding, mechanical, smoke control, heating, smoke control, sprinkler, standpipe, chimneys, masonry, energy, concrete placement, and all other TR1&TR8 inspections for DOB, Transit Authority, LIRR, DDC, DEP, DOT projects. Contact & coordinate client’s representative, Engineer/Architect of record, expediters, and general contractors for all special inspection requirements, resolve technical issues, review inspection log submittals, RFI’s. Attending site construction meetings, review/progress meeting on behalf of the company to discuss construction problems, review specialty needs, coordinate with other service providers, and understand schedules. Communicating with the site project management team and the company leadership and engineer team.

 Qualifications:

• NYS Professional Engineering License or ability to get NYS PE License.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience is required.
• Proficiency in basic engineering computations and analysis.
